In continuation of his training for the deployment in Central Asia, Dima traveled to St. Louis to attend a training conference for Russian pastors and network through a dear friend Duane.

A wise Russian proverb reads: "rigor in training - ease in battle fray." I always enjoyed a good challenge in training, but I never realized that training and preparation can involve so much more than study. The sterile laboratory of a student's mind is quickly messed up by the whirlwind of messy life circumstances.

This summer we, Dima and Maria, traveled through Central Asia and Eastern Europe together for about a month. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about the people and the country and to see whether this was the proper place for us to start our gospel ministry.
