In continuation of his training for the deployment in Central Asia, Dima traveled to St. Louis to attend a training conference for Russian pastors and network through a dear friend Duane. The trip was planned three months in advance. Meanwhile, Dima's best friend from seminary Duane was hired as a pastor of small groups at First Evangelical Free Church in St. Louis. While sitting in Duane's office at that church, Dima inquired International Leadership Training director about the location of the Russian pastor's conference. The conference was going to be held at First Evangelical Free Church!!

International Leadership Conference

Russian and Romanian pastors and lay leaders gathered from all over the country to receive instruction from Ion Cheptene. We studied the book of Philippians, basic leadership principles, and evangelism. At the end of the conference, we did a little bit of street evangelism in a local mall. It was encouraging to see slavic Christians gather for the purpose of developing ministry teams to reach slavs in this country and abroad.

Continued Fundraising and Training

This visit to St. Louis for the first time allowed Dima to make new friends and meet many potential future ministry partners. Some have expressed desire to financially assist us. If you would also like to help us, please visit our website or use the included form and the addressed envelope. Maria traveled to Kiev this week to participate in a large gathering of mission workers in Ukraine. We are still waiting to hear something about Maria's fiancee visa. Thank you for your prayers!
